Why organize Believers United?

Why organize Believers United?

The foundation of our community, what unites us, is our faith in and obedience to God and His revelation. Believers United is not merely an organization of people with a common goal… it is the manifestation of our submission to God’s commands as a people.

The prioritization and unity of the believers is a command from God. Consultation of believers has been approved of by God as a means of governing ourselves. We should hold firmly to this rope that God has extended towards us. I know many of us are busy family people, including myself, and it can be difficult to dedicate time to meetings or strategizing on how to actualize our goals as a community… I hope and pray that God shall reward us and support us as long as we keep our sincerity and intentions centered upon submission to His commands, one step at a time.

There is an obligation to prioritize the community of believers over other communities. At the moment we, believers, are connected predominately by virtual means. IRL we exist as isolated individuals or loosely connected to our networks of work and school which force us to compartmentalize our personalities… our social interactions have an impact on us and for some of us zero percent of our real world interactions are with believers.

I hope by organizing Believers United we at the very least increase the frequency in which our social interactions are with other believers in the real world by establishing local chapters and fostering connections through shared projects and goals. More ambitiously, I hope to establish thriving communities of believers with places of worship and fulfilling the social obligations instructed to us by God.

3:103: And hold fast to the rope of God, altogether, and do not become divided. And remember God’s blessings upon you; how you were enemies, and He reconciled your hearts, and by His grace you became brethren. And you were on the brink of a pit of fire, and He saved you from it. God thus clarifies His revelations for you, so that you may be guided.

3:104: And let there be among you a community calling to virtue, and advocating righteousness, and deterring from evil. These are the successful.

3:105: And do not be like those who separated and disputed after the clear proofs came to them; for them is a great punishment.

64:4 Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly.

3:28. Believers are not to take disbelievers for allies instead of believers. Whoever does that has nothing to do with God, unless it is to protect your own selves against them. God warns you to beware of Him. To God is destiny.

4:144. O you who believe! Do not befriend disbelievers rather than believers. Do you want to give God a clear case against you?

5:51. O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies; some of them are allies of one another. Whoever of you allies himself with them is one of them. God does not guide the wrongdoing people.

49:10. The believers are brothers, so reconcile between your brothers, and remain conscious of God, so that you may receive mercy.

4: 85. Whoever intercedes for a good cause has a share in it, and whoever intercedes for an evil cause shares in its burdens. God keeps watch over everything.

Peace and God bless you
